Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

  • Randi and Sam live in different parts of New York. We offer virtual therapy throughout New York and Maryland. Randi offers virtual therapy in Vermont, as well.

  • Online therapy works basically the same as in person therapy, but you get to meet from the comfort of your own home or wherever else works for you. All you need is a private space, an internet connection, and a device to meet from (such as a phone, tablet, or computer). All therapy methods we offer can be effectively done online.

  • At this time, we do not offer in-person sessions.

  • Fees vary based on the therapist and the service.

For individual therapy, Randi’s fee is $175 per hour. Sam’s fee is $125 per hour.

Groups and therapy intensives have different rates, which you can see on their respective pages.

  • During your first appointment, you and your therapist will discuss what is bringing you to therapy and your history. We’ll ask you to only answer to the extent that you’re comfortable. You’ll also have time to ask any questions you have regarding therapy or how you and your therapist will work together.

  • Therapy needs can range from as little as two or three sessions to months or years. Many of the methods we specialize in at this practice are known for being both effective and efficient; however, individuals do respond to things in different ways. Your therapist will work with you to estimate your needs, and check in with you regularly regarding how you feel about your progress towards your goals.

  • A Good Faith Estimate is a notice of what you might expect to pay for therapy over time, so there are no surprises in your billing. Due to the ongoing and variable nature of therapy, we provide you with a formula in the Good Faith Estimate to help you calculate your expenses.
